Doha, Qatar: Host Qatar earned a 2-1 win over Kuwait as the four seeded teams in the men’s Final 8 of the FIP Asia Padel Cup lived up to expectations at the Khalifa Tennis and Squash International Complex in Doha yesterday.

Qatar, Iran, United Arab Emirates and Australia all started with victories.

In Group A, Iran won all three matches without dropping a set against Jordan, while the United Arab Emirates claimed a 2–1 win over Lebanon, which managed to take the final match of the tie.

In Group B, Australia secured three victories — the second featuring Pat Rafter, partnering Vuk Velickovic, who won in straight sets.

Meanwhile, Japan, Iran, Indonesia, and Thailand claimed strong wins in the women's draw.

Yesterday, in Group A, both Japan and Iran kicked off the round on a high, each taking three wins out of three, Japan against Saudi Arabia, and Iran against the United Arab Emirates.

In Group B, Indonesia claimed a 3–0 victory over Australia, while Thailand completed a comeback after losing their opening match against the Philippines. Thanks to the wins of Vichithong/Vitayaviroj and Narkprasert/Srirungraeng, Thailand turned the tie around. The second round of ties is scheduled for today.
