Industrial production in Tunisia posted a 2.3 percent drop in the second quarter of 2017, compared with a slight increase of 0.2 percent in the same period of the previous year.
According to the National Institute of Statistics (INS), this decline in the industrial production index (IPI) is mainly due to lower production of the extraction of energy products sector by 13.9 percent, due to a 20.5 percent drop in crude oil production. The decrease also affected the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products.
