Khartoum: The Government of Sudan praised Qatar’s significant role and support to Sudan at all levels.
Sudanese Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ibrahim Obeid-Allah yesterday said Qatar has played a remarkable role in realising peace in Darfur.
The great support provided by Qatar has enabled Sudan to face regional and international challenges, he said, adding Qatar, through its solid relations and joint strategic cooperation with Sudan, has set a model for building and developing Arab-Arab relations.
Qatar has positively contributed to resolving several conflicts in the Arab world and other regions of the world, and has always been keen to support peace and stability and promote Arab dialogue and consultation on the current situation in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Palestine and Libya, he said.
Obeid-Allah said political consultation and continuous communication between the Sudanese and Qatari leaderships on issues of common concern has significantly served Arab stability and enabled Sudan to have a strong presence on the Arab scene and effectively contribute to promoting Arab national security.
He also highlighted Qatar’s tangible efforts towards the ‘Arab Food Security’ initiative proposed by Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir.
