DOHA: Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has implemented a new relief campaign in Syria’s Aleppo and distributed 40 tonnes of aid.
Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), on the other hand, has dispatched seven  convoys comprising 27 truckloads of food and medical aid to the besieged city in the past 10 days.

With the latest rush of aid, including a large quantity of baby milk, flour and food baskets, RAF has provided about 60 tonnes of basic supplies and medicines and medical equipment that were distributed over the past few days.
Last week, RAF delivered 20 tonnes of essential items, including flour and basic food distributed in several districts of Aleppo and its countryside.
The relief programme targets 50,000 people across Aleppo and the neighbouring areas.

RAF has launched several relief projects in the city, including supporting health centres, food stores and three charitable kitchens providing 15,000 meals a day.
About 400,000 Syrians are living in Aleppo in difficult humanitarian situation and many local organisations working there have called on international organisations to provide necessary supplies to alleviate citizens’ misery.
RAF coordinates with its partners in Syria and provides aid whenever there is an opportunity.

Meanwhile, the field staff of QRC’s Emergency Response Programme delivered the seven convoys.
The first convoy consisted of six trucks carrying 500 food basket, 24 tones of flour, 15 tones of dates to benefit about 100,000 people.
The second convoy consisted one truck carrying food and medical equipment, while the third convoy comprised six trucks carrying 250 food baskets, one tonne of dates and 40 tonnes of flour.

The seventh convoy was the last to enter the city on Wednesday carrying 250 food baskets and 22.5 tonnes of flour. RAF’s eighth convoy carrying 500 food baskets and 13.5 tonnes of flour, among others, has not yet arrived in Aleppo due to the unsafe road condition, a RAF statement said.
This humanitarian response is meant to aid those affected by the military escalation in the city and provide food and medical supplies to hospitals and health centres that receive the victims.
