Doha Bank hosted bowling and billiards events at Qatar Bowling Center recently as part of its efforts to bring staff members together beyond the workplace.
Dr R Seetharaman, Doha Bank Group CEO, said: “Doha Bank is committed to its employees who are part of our global family of stakeholders and by recognising their efforts, we are hoping to contribute to their sense of belonging at the bank as well as encourage them to pursue career development by embracing the same spirit of friendly competition.”
Abdul Rahman Ali A Al Mohammed, Head of Human Resources at Doha Bank, added: “The bank hosts many such events around the year for staff to demonstrate their sporting acuity and mental strength. These events help build cohesion and camaraderie among co-workers and instil a healthy sense of competition among them which has proven benefits in the workplace.”
The bowling tournament saw 34 teams with four players in each. The team “Were on Strike” starring Annette, Diego, Joseph and Oscar won the overall title. The top five teams received prizes.
Children were also part of the day’s proceedings, with a bowling tournament for competitors between ages 11 and 18, as well as prizes for kids up to the age of 7.
The bank also hosted 51 singles and 20 doubles teams in its billiards events. The doubles champions were Abhishek Anand and Viraj Perera, while Mark Penamante won the singles title.
