Doha: For the first time, Australia’s 2015 world championship swimming team is training at Hamad Aquatic Centre at Aspire Zone from July 19 to 29.
The team of internationally recognised athletes regarded as one of the world’s strongest,  is preparing for FINA World Championships to be held in Kazan, Russia.
The team’s Head Coach Jacco Verhaeren said: “I am pleased with our accommodation and training facilities in Doha.
“Many of our swimmers have used Aspire Zone in the past and its services and facilities are world-class. The camp in Doha is a chance for our swimmers to familiarise with the time zone and put final touches to preparations in a highly professional environment at the state-of-the-art centre.”
For the past three years, Aspire has hosted three small groups annually, who used its facilities for training, in addition to regularly organising camps for top-tier athletes and sports clubs.
By providing a year-round indoor climate-controlled training facility, it aims to nurture elite sporting talent, allowing athletes to compete at their maximum potential.
