DOHA: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested an Asian official for taking bribes from violating shops in exchange for removing violations from records.
The shops which committed violations were located at a popular market. The department received information that the man working in a ministry taking bribes from violating shops and restaurants. Investigations revealed his illegal activities and he was caught red handed, the Ministry of interior said on its official Facebook account.
The person has admitted to the charges saying he was asking money from commercial shops as bribe to remove their violations. The police transferred him to the Public Prosecution to complete the investigation.
