Tokyo---Tokyo stocks rose 0.46 percent by the break on Thursday, hitting new 15-year highs and shrugging off a negative lead from Wall Street.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange added 93.11 points to 20,289.67 in morning trade, while the Topix index of all first-section shares climbed 0.57 percent, or 9.36 points, to 1,652.76.
