Al Rayyan Municipality issued most building permits in June

DOHA: Al Rayyan Municipality (including Shahaniya) issued the most building permits, outnumbering Doha Municipality, accounting for 32 percent of the total 536 issued by all municipalities in June.
Data issued by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics shows overall decrease in the number of permits by 19 percent compared to 659 issued in May.
The overall drop was noted in most municipalities (Doha 31 percent, Rayyan 14 percent, Al Wakrah nine percent, Al Daayen 34 percent, Al Khor nine percent and Al Shamal 11 percent). Umm Salal recorded an increase of 13 percent.
Data published in the 18th issue of the monthly Statistics of Building Permits shows that Al Rayyan Municipality topped the municipalities in the number of permits issued (172)or 32 percent of the total permits.
Doha Municipality took the second place with 129 permits or 24 percent, followed by Al Wakrah with 86 permits (16 percent), and Al Daayen with 59 permits (11 percent.
The rest of the municipalities were: Umm Salal 43 permits (eight percent), Al Khor 39 permits (seven percent), and Al Shamal eight permits (two percent). Data indicates that the new permits (residential and non-residential) constituted 54 percent (286 permits) of the total, while additions permits constituted 43 percent (232 permits), and fencing permits three percent (18 permits).
Within the new residential buildings permits, villas topped the list, accounting for 62 percent (156 permits) of all residential building permits, followed by dwellings for loans by 25 percent (62 permits) and apartments buildings by 11 percent (28 permits). Mosques buildings were at the forefront of non-residential building permits with 31 percent (11 permits), followed by commercial buildings with 29 percent (10 permits), industrial buildings such as workshops and factories with 26 percent (nine permits), and government buildings with 14 percent (five permits).
