Doha: Qatar has welcomed Sudan’s decision on ceasefire in Blue Nile and South Kordofan regions.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry confirmed Qatar’s support for efforts to achieve a comprehensive peace in Sudan and said it considers Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir’s recent decision to a four-month ceasefire in Blue Nile and South Kordofan a positive step towards enhancing security and stability in the country.
The statement stressed Qatar’s support for Sudan in efforts to push forward the peace process to reach a political settlement through a comprehensive national dialogue that responds to the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people.
