Doha: Qatar has been chosen to be in the implementation team of the Arab Strategic Plan for Alliance of Civilisations, which includes Oman, Kuwait, Egypt, Morocco, and the Arab League General Secretariat.
Representatives of Arab contact points of the alliance at Arab League chose Qatar in recognition of efforts of Qatar Committee for Alliance of Civilisations in the development of the plan.
The team will determine programmes and activities for 2016-2019, follow up implementation, determine sources and mechanisms of financing them and promote the plan at international and regional forums.
The committee has presented projects and programmes as part of the plan, especially in the areas of youth and education, taking advantage of its experience in the development and implementation of Qatar’s plans for the alliance.
Qatar developed the first plan for the alliance in 2010, which was one of the first national plans at the international level, and the second plan in 2014 to cope with Qatar National Vision 2030 and National Development Strategy 2011-2016.
