Doha: The task of relocating the Indian Embassy to its new premises at Villa No. 86 & 90, Street No. 941, Al Eithra Street, Zone 63, Onaiza, Doha, will be undertaken from June 22 until 26.
During this period, the Embassy will not be able to render consular and other services, which will fully resume from the new premises from June 27.
However, the Embassy will attend to any genuine emergency during relocation. Its Help Lines for the purpose are: Consular Section: 33872462; 66952621; and 33555029; Labour & Community Welfare Section: 55808254; 33451607; 66275337; and 33208766. Officials will also check respective emails publicised through its website (www.indianembassyqatar.gov.in).
The Indian government approved the Embassy’s relocation to a better Chancery premises to further enhance services to the Indian community and the public at large in Qatar.
As an Internet search and visit to the new premises and its surroundings would demonstrate, the total parking near the new premises is more compared to the existing premises. The same is the case with the overall availability of public transport, the details of which may be perused at (www.mowasalat.com). The nearest bus stations for the new location are City Centre and Qatar Sports Club. When Doha Metro starts operating, Al Qassar will be the nearest metro station.
In anticipation of its relocation, the Embassy has already requested authorities to increase the number of buses to the close vicinity of the new premises. The request is under consideration.
In view of the increasing volume of consular services, the Embassy’s proposal for outsourcing the collection of consular applications and delivery of documents after rendering services is under consideration of the Indian government. The Embassy accords utmost priority to its regular, active and inclusive outreach to the Indian community in Qatar and to rendering efficient services to them and other members of the public.
