The Qatar Society of Petroleum Engineers (QSPE) held its monthly technical presentation on May 13 at The Diplomatic Club in Doha. Alvaro Grijalbo, Senior Engineering Advisor at Occidental Petroleum of Qatar Ltd. (Oxy Qatar), presented on “Rock, Fluid and Flood Characterization for Miscible CO2 Injection in the Seminole Field Residual Oil Zone, Permian Basin.” More than 75 industry professionals attended the event.
The monthly technical presentations provide oil and gas professionals in Qatar the opportunity to collaborate and share knowledge. Sheikh Faisal Al Thani, Managing Director of Maersk Oil Qatar and Board Chairperson of QSPE, stated: “I would like to thank Oxy Qatar for their sponsorship and support of SPE-Qatar Section and I would like to encourage other oil and gas companies in Qatar to present their technical expertise through SPE Qatar. In addition, our section membership continues to grow, exceeding 600 members as well as supporting two local student chapters.”
