Athena: A bomb exploded outside a building housing the Eurobank bank in central Athens late Wednesday, damaging its entrance and smashing some windows, but without injuries.
"The blast damaged the entrance and smashed some windows," a local police official said, adding that some nearby buildings had suffered minor damage.
Police cordoned off most of the streets in the area around the place after a warning phone call to a local news network.
Eurobank is the third largest bank in Greece in terms of assets. Attacks on companies, police and politicians are frequent incidents in Greece, which has a long record of political violence, and is still struggling to recover from a stormy debt crisis.
