Doha: The Enriching Fisheries Program has been inaugurated on Monday, March 20, with over 10,000 Yellowfin bream fish and Grouper fish released in to Qatari sea waters on the occasion.
The programme was inaugurated under the patronage of H E Lt. Gen. (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al-Nabit, Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces, and in the presence of Brig. (Tech./Air) Mohammed Yosuf Al-Jaida, Director of the Directorate of Environment, the Directorate of Environment of Qatar Armed Forces. The initiative was in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, represented by Aquatic Beings Center of the Enriching Fisheries Directorate.

The officials released ten thousand Yellowfin bream fish and ten thousand Grouper fish on the occassion.
Officers and personnel of the Naval Forces, the Special Naval Forces, the Directorate of Environment, and representatives of the Aquatic Beings Center of the Enriching Fisheries Directorate of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment participated in releasing the fish.
The Enriching Fisheries Program aims to produce these fish in the Ministry of Municipality and Environment. The group of fish were released north of the Naval Base, which is considered a protected area that fishermen cannot approach, which gives a better opportunity for the survival of the fish.
