IBPC QATAR participates in AgriteQ 2023

Doha: The Embassy of India and the Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC QATAR) jointly participated in the 10th Qatar International Agriculture Exhibition (AgriteQ) at the Doha Exhibition & Convention Centre (DECC) from March 15-19.

The India Pavilion showcased several companies specializing in Agricultural Technology, Farming and Gardening Tools, and Millet Based Food products.

Minister of Transportation H E Jassim bin Saif bin Ahmed Al Sulaiti and Akbar Al Baker, CEO-Qatar Airways Group and Chairman-Qatar Tourism, inaugurated the Indian Pavilion.

Accompanying the Chief Guests were the Indian Ambassador Dr. Deepak Mittal, IBPC President Jaffer Us Sadik, and IBPC Officials.

Dr. Mittal stated that AgriteQ has been at the forefront of providing a platform for local and international agriculture stakeholders to exchange expertise, discover trends and developments, and seize business opportunities in this vital sector while highlighting innovation in agricultural techniques, local & International food products and pinpoint the road map to achieve food security and sustainable development.

Dr. Mittal was proud to see that India has a lot to offer to Qatar in this sector, an emphasized the importance of millets.Millets are a group of small-seeded grains that are packed with nutrients and offer many health benefits. They are good for digestion, lower the risk of heart disease, help control diabetes, boost energy levels, improve bone health, and support weight loss. Overall, millets are a nutritious and healthy food that can offer many health benefits. They are versatile and can be used in a variety of dishes, making them a great addition to any healthy diet.

India is proud to be the brand ambassador Millets in the International Year of Millets 2023 IBPC President Jaffer highlighted that AgriteQ 2023 is a platform for exchanging knowledge, ideas, and best practices in agriculture, and that sustainable agriculture was the key to a better future. IBPC is committed to promoting Millets through Agriteq.

India can play a major role in Qatar’s Food Security, since 58 percent of India’s population is involved in agriculture & aquaculture, contributing US$ 277bn annually to the Indian Economy. India’s exports of agricultural and allied products stood at $42bn in 2022.
