Doha: Aspetar, the first specialised Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in the Gulf region, announced individuals who will head Sports Cardiology and Screening, Radiology, and a Consultant Hand and Orthopaedic Surgeon.
Prof. Guido Pieles is now the Head of Sports Cardiology and Screening. He is a Consultant Adult and Paediatric Sports and Congenital Cardiologist and an international expert in the care of elite and amateur athletes leading the sports cardiology department at Aspetar.
Dr. Marcelo Bordalo will be the Chief of Radiology in Aspetar. He is a musculoskeletal and interventional radiologist arrive at Aspetar from University of Sao Paulo Medical School, Brazil, where he served as Director of Radiology at the Orthopaedic Institute and Director of Musculoskeletal Radiology at the Institute of Radiology for the last 17 years. He also directed the Musculoskeletal Radiology department at Hospital Sirio Libanese in Sao Paulo, one of the main healthcare providers in Brazil.
Dr. Elisabeth Hagert will hold the position of Consultant Hand and Orthopaedic Surgeon. She is a world-renowned hand, wrist and peripheral nerve surgeon from Stockholm, Sweden.
