US President Barack Obama delivers the Medal of Honour to Shyrell Jean Copas who accepted it on behalf of her father, Specialist Four Ardie R Copas during a ceremony in the East Room of the White House in Washington on Tuesday. Obama awarded the Medal of Honour to 24 veterans, three of whom are still living, who fought in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. They were previously denied the prestigious honor due to their Hispanic, black or Jewish backgrounds.
