Scattered clouds over the country are expected to bring rains during the coming days, along with a dip in mercury. There is an increased chance of rain especially on Sunday, according to the weather bureau.

From today until early Monday, the skies are expected to become gradually partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with a chance of scattered light rain especially on Sunday.

Strong northwesterly winds ranging between 15 to 25 knots reaching 35 knots offshore with high seas are expected to hit Qatari shores. This is due to a ridge of Siberian high pressure system over the country that is expected from Monday until Wednesday. A ridge of high pressure is a wedge-shaped extension of the high pressure belt.

Since the temperature associated with ridges is similar to that in the high pressure region, the mercury is expected to dip in Qatar during this period. A noticeable drop in temperatures will be seen, with the minimum temperature in Doha expected to range between 10 to 13 degrees Celsius. In external areas, the strong winds will give a higher feeling of cold.

Today, the weather bureau has issued warnings of poor visibility at first due to hazy to misty condition at places. The sky will become partly cloudy to cloudy at times bringing a chance of light rain at places.

The temperature in Doha will range between 16 and 25 degrees Celsius. Abu Samrah will experience a maximum of 28 degree Celsius and a minimum of 11 degrees.
