A high-level round table meeting on (innovative partnerships to discuss the humanitarian consequences in Aleppo) was held at the initiative of H E Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Muriakhi, the UN envoy for Humanitarian Affairs. The meeting was organised by Qatar Charity (QC).
A statement issued by the meeting said that the agenda has been formed after the worsening humanitarian situation in Aleppo and the launch of Qatar's campaign in support of providing relief to the brotherly Syrian people in response to the directives of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The participants stressed the need for coordination and cooperation between national humanitarian organisations and humanitarian agencies of the United Nations in order to achieve an effective response to the needs of the victims of the Aleppo crisis, and to build an effective sustained collaborative framework between the two parties. Officials of the Qatari government participated in the meeting. They were represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as Qatar’s Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities.
Several Qatari humanitarian organisations including RAF participated in the organisation campaign.
