Doha: Ambassador of Peru to Qatar, H E Jose Benzaquen Perea said on the occasion of Qatar National Day yesterday that the maroon and white Qatari flag is being waved and recognised universally.
The envoy said this is the reflection of “the result of great efforts and dedication with spirit of a small country in its greatness that offers the international world community a great achievement to seeing it been recognised as a place of peace and harmony, watch is necessary in our current times.”
Benzaquen termed December 18 this year as a “historic day” and said that the accomplishments Qatar has achieved “will continue for the good of the region and of this global world.”
We would like to express our congratulations on this glorious day to the State of Qatar and its people, thanks to the leadership and permanent commitment of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to achieve a society in a state of well-being, and that generously welcomes other populations.”
Ambassador Benzaquen also commended Qatar’s hosting of the World Cup. “This has shown organisational and technical excellence in the smallest details that exceeded the expectations we had from the beginning.
“We must not leave aside the admired cultural, artistic and musical presentations that, on the occasion of World Cup, have been observed by the entire international community.
“I believe that we are all committed to taking the State of Qatar as an example for its valuable achievements, which are for the benefit of its own good and for all of us who live on this planet,” the ambassador concluded.
