Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani planted yesterday at the Post office Park, the millionth tree as part of the initiative to plant one million trees, coinciding with the celebration of the country’s National Day, and the conclusion of the FIFA World Qatar 2022, which Qatar sought to be an environmentally friendly tournament.
The event was attended by Their Excellencies ministers and ranking officials in the country. Several ministries, governmental and private agencies and institutions, in addition to school students, communities and civil society, have taken part in the initiative to plant one million trees.
