ANKARA: 217 Islamic State targets were hit on Sunday in northern Syria as part of Operation Euphrates Shield.

The Turkish Armed Forces said in a statement 160 targets were "neutralized" by fire support vehicles during an operation.

In addition, 57 targets, including arsenals, were destroyed by Turkish warplanes in al-Bab, Bzagah, Zammar, Suflaniyyah and Kabr al Mukri regions.

Tuesday marks the 117th day of the operation, which began in late August to improve security, support coalition forces and eliminate the terror threat along Turkey’s border using Free Syrian Army fighters backed by Turkish armor, artillery, and jets.
