National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) Chairman Dr. Ali bin Sumaikh Al Marri met yesterday with the delegation of the technical mission of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
The international delegation, on Friday, started a visit to Doha in order to gather information about the repercussions of the siege on human rights for citizens and residents of the State as well as citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The meeting was part of a series of meetings that the delegation will hold with governmental, non-governmental and civil society organizations as well as some of the victims affected by the siege.
During the meeting, the delegation briefed the NHRC Chairman on the nature of their mission to be concluded by a report to be submitted to the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
For his part, Dr. Al Marri explained to the delegation the impacts of the siege on citizens, residents and citizens of the GCC countries and latest violations and developments in the humanitarian situation monitored by the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) in this regard.
