21 students of DPS-MIS participate in a virtual debate

QatarDebate organised a workshop named ‘Argumentation and Refutation’ October 14, 2020 via the web platform Zoom where 21 debaters of Delhi Public School-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) along with their coach Jaya Majumder participated enthusiastically.
The resource person Mubarrat Wassey conducted the workshop in three segments. The first segment of the workshop focused on the aspect of argumentation when debaters learned how assertion, reasoning, evidence and impact form an important part of every argument. The second segment focused on refutation strategies.
The most important refutation strategy being underlying assumption, logic and counter consideration. The refutation strategies were explained by various examples. 
The final segments was ‘Practical’ where debaters tried to form arguments through various exercises and tested through a small quiz.
The entire workshop was a great help to all the budding debaters to shape their train of thoughts. 
It assisted al in critical thinking since argumentation and refutation plays a major role in debate. “The learning of the workshop will help all the students to become an efficient debater and will stay with them forever and guide throughout the debating career,” said the Principal, DPS Modern Indian School.
