Doha, Qatar: The Personal Data Privacy Protection Department at the National Cyber Security Agency issued a decision against a company operating in the trade and services sector in the country for privacy violations.
"The decision comes after a reported personal data breach identified by the Agency’s specialized teams," the Agency announced on social media.
It further stated that investigations confirmed that the company violated Articles (8, Clause 3), (13), and (14) of Law No. (13) of 2016 on the Protection of Personal Data Privacy, due to inadequate administrative, technical, and financial precautions to protect personal data.
The Agency further added that the company has been instructed to review and update its current administrative, technical, and financial precautions and strengthen its systems to ensure the protection of personal data privacy and full compliance to the provisions of the law.
