Doha, Qatar: With celebrative vibe, traditional gaiety and fervor, MES Indian School celebrated the 77th Independence Day of India on August 15 at the Conference Hall of the school.
Dr. Hameeda Kadar, the Chief Guest and Principal, MES Indian School, unfurled the Indian national flag, followed by the national anthem rendered by the school choir.
Speaking on the occasion, she enlightened the audience about the priceless sacrifices made by the freedom fighters in their endeavor to earn freedom for the nation. She emphasised that practicing nonviolence is the only panacea for building a new world of peace and prosperity. In her message to students, she reminded them of their responsibility to ensure unity and integrity of the nation.

As part of the event, students presented a cultural programme that comprised patriotic song, dance depicting the glory of the nation and a costume representation.
Master Ashkar Mohammed, Head Boy and Shaza Fathima Assistant, Head Girl, welcomed the gathering and proposed a vote of thanks respectively. Mohsina Parveen and Mrs. Anjali Sanjeev, members of the teaching faculty compered the programme. The School Cultural Coordinators meanwhile coordinated the event.
The School Governing Board wished all the staff, students and parents and thanked all for joining in the celebrations. Pramila Kannan, Principal-MESIS, graced the occasion with her presence. The school officials, the teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and students were among those who attended the 77th Independence Day celebrations of India.
