Doha: Experts from the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation and the United Nations Environment Programme yesterday praised Qatar’s progress with respect to the protection of the ozone layer and commitment to implementation of the requirements of the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (Montreal Protocol).
This came as the experts met officials from the Department of prevention of radiation, chemicals and the national contact point for the ozone at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment to discuss the national strategy to deal with hydrofluorocarbons.
The meeting also reviwed issues of mutual concern.
