DOHA: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will start construction of the road which links Al Wakra Hospital to Street No. 820 and Barwa residences in October, said Mansour Al Khatir, member of Central Municipal Council (CMC).
Implementing such a project will solve traffic problems in Al Wakra, which has suffered for many years.
Through the project the area will have three exists to Doha instead of one, Al Sharq reports. Al Khatir said projects related to Al Wukair and Al Mushaf will start soon and are expected to be completed by the end of next year. The projects include building internal and main roads and replacing roundabouts with traffic signals. Meetings with Ashghal officials revealed that they will complete 80 percent of the sanitation project in Al Wukair and Al Mushaf next year. Regarding projects in Ras Abu Fontas, Al Khatir said they will be completed after two months, and will include establishing main and service roads and new pedestrian paths.
