Hong Kong - Hong Kong stocks jumped 1.08 percent by lunch Friday following a record close on Wall Street but mainland Chinese markets sank on worries about tight liquidity.
The Hang Seng Index gained 289.39 points to 26,984.05 on turnover of HK$58.27 billion (US$7.52 billion).
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index retreated 2.05 percent, or 98.04 points, to 4,687.32.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 2.55 percent, or 74.31 points, to 2,839.29.
