DOHA: Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) and Line Investment & Property, a subsidiary of Lulu Group International, have signed an agreement that would make the latter assumes the operations and management service responsibilities of the Ruwais Shopping Mall in Gharbia, UAE. Line Investment & Property is expected to provide maximum effectiveness and deliver efficiency in the operation of the Mall.
An agreement to this effect was signed by Saeed Said Al Qamzi Director of Administration, Adnoc and Yusuffali M A, Managing Director of Lulu Group International at Adnoc headquarters yesterday. On behalf of Abdulla Nasser Al Suwaidi, Adnoc Director General, Mohammed S Al Qubaisi, Human Resources Director at Adnoc, witnessed the signing ceremony held in the presence of Saifee T Rupawala CEO, Ashraf Ali M A, Executive Director of Lulu Group International and Raja Abdulkader, Director of Line Investments.
The Mall will serve residents of the Ruwais Residential Complex (RRC), operated by Adnoc, and population in the Ruwais area where the number of inhabitants is expected to reach 20,000 by the year 2015. RRC has been witnessing continuous development and growth due to mega projects and developments, which are executed by Adnoc in the Oil and Gas Sector, in Gharbia. Adnoc continues to work on increasing the accommodation capacity for the complex through the buildup of further residential units. The complex comprises large number of government and private schools, in addition to various services and recreational facilities.
The Ruwais Shopping Mall covers an area of 31,254 square metres where it is considered the biggest shopping mall in Gharbia comprising 32 shops as retail outlets divided between two floors. The mall includes 416 car parking spaces, four restaurants, five cafes and seven fast food outlets, in addition to a number of recreational facilities including ice rinks, bowling tracks, cinema halls and services facilities that cover an area of 13,522 square meters on built-up areas.
Al Qubaisi said Adnoc & its Group of Companies conducts a significant role in supporting Gharbia through exploiting all possible capabilities and providing further job vacancies, training and developing Gharbia national residents in Adnoc Group of Companies. He pointed at Adnoc keenness to contributing in the development and prosperity that is been witnessed in Gharbia.
Al Qamzi said signing the agreement comes within the framework of Adnoc care in providing comfortable lifestyle for staff through developed housing facilities standards, which take into consideration residents’ daily needs to sustain good performance of employees and their families.
Yusuffali said: “We are delighted to be chosen by Adnoc to manage and operate this prestigious project in Ruwais. It is in sync with our group’s commitment to expand further into the western regions of Abu Dhabi so that the residents there don’t have to travel long distance to get world class shopping and leisure activities.”
The Peninsula
