Katara celebrates Turkish Presidential Symphony Orchestra

Doha: Katara in cooperation with Turkey's Embassy in Qatar organised a concert by the Turkish Presidential Symphony Orchestra on Monday at the Opera House.
The General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation, Dr Khalid Bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, Turkish Ambassador  to Doha Ahmet Demirok, a number of heads of diplomatic missions and multi-national music audience were present for the event.
In his speech on the occasion, Katara Chief said: “This fine musical show represents a unique opportunity for exploring the depth and richness of Turkish diverse culture and heritage”.
For his part, the ambassador expressed gratitude for all the efforts made by “Katara” to introduce a taste of cultures from around the world to Qatar. He added: “The Turkish Presidential Symphony Orchestra is one of the most prominent and old orchestras and it has performed all over the world spreading the Turkish musical culture and uniqueness”.
The concert was received with great admiration, appreciation and applause by the audience emphasizing an old fact once again that music is truly a universal language.
The Turkish Presidential Symphony Orchestra performed for the first time in the presence of Sultan Mahmut II in 1826.
