New York: The State of Qatar reaffirmed its steadfast position in support of the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the Palestinian people, based on international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, while confirming the continuation of its efforts with international partners to consolidate security and stability in the region.

This came in the State of Qatar's statement delivered by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, during the Security Council briefing on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue, at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

Her Excellency explained that the meeting was convened following the illegal Israeli measures aimed at imposing illegitimate Israeli sovereignty, consolidating settlements, and establishing a new legal and administrative reality in the occupied West Bank, accelerating attempts at its illegal annexation and the displacement of the Palestinian people, including the recent decision to convert occupied West Bank lands into so-called "state lands" under the control of occupation authorities.

She stressed that Qatar condemns this step and considers it an extension of the occupation's illegal schemes to seize the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, highlighting the need for international community solidarity to pressure the occupation to halt the implementation of the decision and prevent its serious repercussions.

Her Excellency expressed Qatar's strong condemnation of Israel's repeated violations of the ceasefire, which constitute a dangerous escalation, emphasizing the necessity for Israel's full compliance with the agreement to ensure the success of the second phase of the comprehensive plan and the implementation of Security Council Resolution 2803.

She also renewed Qatar's welcome of the invitation extended by HE President of the United States Donald Trump for Qatar to join the Peace Council, confirming its support for carrying out the Council's mission as a transitional body, as outlined in the comprehensive plan to end the Gaza conflict and Security Council Resolution 2803, aimed at establishing a permanent ceasefire, facilitating reconstruction, and advancing just and lasting peace based on fulfilling the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.
