WASHINGTON: Washington urged Beijing to keep pressure on North Korea to return to talks aimed at preventing Pyongyang from making further advances in its weapons programme in violation of UN resolutions. China's Commerce Ministry said that it suspended all imports of coal from North Korea from yesterday. The announcement came as part of Beijing's efforts to implement international sanctions against the country.
Earlier this month, Pyongyang tested an intermediate-range ballistic missile, its first direct challenge to the international community since US President Donald Trump took office.
Trump administration has said that China should do more to pressure Pyongyang.
