Qatar University has provided its student body of over 15,000 with new Microsoft tools to expand their capacity in and out of the classroom.
Through a campus-wide migration to Microsoft Office 365, QU students, faculty and alumni have access to a cloud computing platform that provides tools to access coursework on any device from any location, innovative messaging and videoconferencing applications, and easy file sharing.
The platform is an innovative hybrid system whereby QU members operate from an on-premises exchange server and students experience the flexibility of working from Office 365 with up-to-date applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook, with new capabilities being added all the time.
“Secure mobile tools are increasingly important inside and outside today’s classroom and we continue to provide our students and community with state-of-the-art services and tools such as Office 365 which help to ensure that Qatar University is an enriching environment for innovative learning and future success”, said QU Vice President and Chief Academic Officer Dr Mazen Hasna
Microsoft Qatar General Manager Naim Yazbeck said, “Microsoft Qatar is proud to partner with Qatar University – an iconic and expanding national education institution. This partnership is another step forward, reflecting Microsoft’s commitment to supporting education and human development in Qatar - key pillars of the National Vision for 2030”.The Peninsula
