Doha: The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has urged citizens and residents to exercise extra caution as thundery conditions and heavy rainfall continue to affect several parts of the country, including Doha.

In a series of weather updates shared on social media, QMD said thundery rain is expected to persist at times, accompanied by strong winds and possible hail. The Department confirmed that hail was observed in the Al Kharrarah area, underscoring the intensity of the prevailing weather conditions.

QMD also issued a set of safety reminders for motorists, advising drivers to reduce speed, move between lanes cautiously, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, switch on headlights, avoid mobile phone use, and refrain from driving through submerged roads.

Additionally, the public has been advised to avoid open areas during thunderstorms and to seek shelter immediately. Citizens and residents are urged to stay away from elevated areas, rooftops, trees, and electricity poles. QMD noted that remaining inside vehicles with windows closed is considered safe during thunderstorms.
