Amman: The State of Qatar took part in the 45th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs and the Arab Conference on the Implementation of the Doha Declaration, both held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The events brought together Their Excellencies ministers and senior officials responsible for social affairs across the Arab world.

Minister of Social Development and Family H E Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi led Qatar’s delegation and chaired the opening session of the Arab Conference, which focused on the social and developmental messages of the Doha Declaration issued by the Second World Summit for Social Development.

In her address, Al Misnad emphasized the shared Arab commitment to advancing social development and translating the priorities of the Doha Declaration into actionable policies. These priorities include eradicating poverty, promoting decent work, expanding economic opportunities, and fostering inclusive societies as the foundation for sustainable and effective social policies.

She stressed the need for coordinated Arab efforts that respect the region’s geographic, social, and economic diversity, aiming to empower Arab citizens and enhance societal resilience in the face of accelerating challenges, while upholding the principle of leaving no one behind.

Minister Al Misnad highlighted that the 2025 Doha Political Declaration, endorsed by consensus at the Second World Summit, renews the global commitment to human dignity and draws a clear link between social justice, development, peace, security, and human rights.

She also outlined Qatar’s national priorities in social development, aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, including strengthening social services, empowering families, and supporting children, youth, and the elderly. The country’s 2025-2030 Social Development Strategy, launched under the theme “From Care to Empowerment,” serves as the implementation framework, grounded in international best practices.

The strategy focuses on poverty eradication, full and productive employment, social inclusion, and innovative social protection systems that support family cohesion, women’s empowerment, and the care of vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities, the elderly, orphans, widows, and divorcees.
