Minister of State for Foreign Affairs H E Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi participating in an emergency meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Makkah Al Mukarramah yesterday.
Makkah: Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs H E Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi said that the targeting by Houthi militias and forces of Ali Abdullah Saleh of Makkah Al Mukkaramah with ballistic missile on October 27 was a flagrant defiance and dangerous provocation of the feelings of the Islamic nation as a whole.
Addressing an emergency meeting of foreign ministers of member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Makkah, the Minister said that Qatar had expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of this heinous crime, which represents clear evidence of the continuation of the Houthi militias and the forces of Ali Abdullah Saleh and their supporters' violations, and their refusal to abide by the international community resolutions and their undermining of the implementation of the truce and all efforts to reach a political solution to the crisis in Yemen.
The Minister stressed Qatar's firm stance in support of the tireless efforts undertaken by the Alliance to support the legitimacy in Yemen led by Saudi Arabia in order to achieve peace, security and stability in Yemen, in accordance with the Gulf initiative, the outputs of the national dialogue and the resolutions of the United Nations, including the Security Council Resolution 2216.
He also stressed the need to strengthen the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) pivotal role in raising the level of cooperation and Islamic integration, according to its principles and its lofty goals, including the multiple and various initiatives to achieve the hopes of the Islamic nation, and the protection of holy sites.
