Doha, Qatar: Liverpool and Egypt national team superstar forward Mohamed Salah took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to broadcast his message of solidarity with the people of Gaza.

The video, which garnered over 40 million views in the span of an hour, shows Mohamed Salah directly speaking to the camera, asking for an end to the massacres and for aid to be allowed to enter besieged Gaza.

The Liverpool forward, who is beloved by many of the club's fans and considered one of the greatest players to ever don the Liverpool jersey, had faced harsh criticism on Arabic social media for what many considered "cowardly silence."

Prior to him releasing his video, many in the Arab world criticised the Egyptian football superstar for not voicing his opinion on the matter, and some even organized anti-Salah campaigns.

Salah's video came one day after the brutal massacre of no less than 500 civilian Palestinians in an Israeli airstrike on the Al Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza.
