Eid Charity sponsors 45,000 orphans

Orphans mark international Islamic orphans’ day at an orphanage run by Eid Charity.

 

DOHA: Sheikh Eid Charitable Foundation (Eid Charity) sponsors 45,000 orphans in 60 countries at a cost of QR9m per month.
Funds as monthly donations are being provided by people of Qatar.
Eid Charity is dealing with orphanages housing children in their respective countries in collaboration with its local partners, charity organisations.
Funds are being used to provide accommodation, food, education and health care to orphans. Eid Charity also finances special programmes to train orphans, for example, to find jobs in local markets among others. Many other projects to support orphans are also being launched. These include building orphanages, schools, institutions. Children are also being provided psychological support, said a release.
Eid Charity launched several initiatives to support and rehabilitate orphans and their families, providing complete care.
Eid Charity follows up the cases of orphans and provides a comprehensive report every six months to sponsors.
Orphans are being sponsored until they are 15 years old and support continues in keeping with instructions of sponsors. Eid Charity organised several programmes in collaboration with local charity organisations on the occasion of Islamic World Orphans’ Day marked on 15 Ramadan.
Thousands of orphan children participated in the programmes. The move aims to bring smiles to orphans.
To sponsor orphans, the sponsors will have to approach the headquarters of Eid Charity to select candidates of their choice. The sponsors are required to pay the cost of sponsorship for a year in cash or through monthly bank transfer. Donations for sponsoring orphans could also be made through website of Eid Charity www.eidcharity.net or by calling 40405555.
