DOHA: The Community Police Department, in collaboration with Al Dhakira Youth Center has launched a campaign to clean walls in public areas, according to Ministry of Interior’s Facebook account.
Lieutenant Salem Ali AL Shamari, officer at community police in Al Shamal Security Department stressed that writing on walls creates an unpleasant atmosphere.
Director of Al Dhakira Youth Center has appreciated the cooperation extended by the public to successfully implement such an initiative.
The Community Police Center activity came as part of its efforts to enhance collaboration with community and police.
Meanwhile, The General Traffic Directorate at the Ministry of Interior organized on Thursday a number entertainment activities for children in more than one place to celebrate Garangao night.
Many families and their children joined the event, which began at the Traffic Headquarters in Madinat Khalifa.
Lt Col Mohamed Radi Al Hajri, Director of Traffic Awareness Department said that the aim to host such event is to increase children awareness and families about traffic safety and we have distributed reflective bags to children.
Earlier, Major Jaber Mohamed Rashid Odaiba, Assistant Director of Media & Traffic Awareness Department told The Peninsula that “about 5,000 reflective bags will be distributed to children for Garangao, and the aim is to keep motorists aware of the presence of children at night”.
