DOHA: Stadium technologies to deliver a safe and excellent fan experience were among the subjects discussed at the World Stadium Congress 2016 which opened yesterday at Westin Doha Hotel and Spa.
World leading providers of technologies used in smart stadiums presented innovative solutions during the breakout sessions to the audience which comprised stadium operators, architects, contractors, federation directors and tournament stakeholders, among others.
Alan Zeng, Project Manager of Hikvision presented the company’s complete line of products and solutions on video surveillance particularly those that would be very useful to ensuring safety in stadiums. He provided a short yet detailed presentation on the various features of the state-of-the art video surveillance systems such as auto tracking, access control, counting and face recognition in parking areas, stadiums, malls and other public places.
As every business turns digital, Mark Sear, Big & Fast Data CTO Transformation at EMC, delved into how businesses can obtain value and profit by using data analysis as well as some of the available technologies to make this possible.
The breakout sessions concluded with a presentation on ‘LED Stadium Lighting Innovations’ by Julius Szaraz, CEO of Leader Light during which he gave intelligent and efficient lighting technology in stadiums and sports arenas as well as malls and public areas. Specifically, he talked about stadium lighting based on FIFA requirements and on the type of sport events.
Among the other topics that were covered yesterday were security protocols and legacy programmes looking at both regional and global case studies and demands.
More than 300 people are attending the four-day conference organised by IQPC in partnership with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy in the run-up to World Cup 2022.
