Doha, Qatar: Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services received three generous donations: a philanthropist donated QR1m, a female philanthropist donated QR1m, and a third donation of QR800,000 was also received, bringing the total value of the three donations to QR2.8m.
The three donors directed their contributions to support a number of the foundation’s projects, including the Kanaf Kareem (KANAF) project, the Iftar for a Fasting Person project, the Ilm project, the Saned project to support workers, the Orphan Sponsorship project, the Generations Giving project, in addition to the Support for Debtors project.
Ibrahim Ali Abdullah, Deputy CEO for Marketing and Media at the Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services, affirmed that these donations reflect the keenness of philanthropists in Qatar to support those in need, and the trust the foundation has cultivated trust that has translated into giving capable of transforming the lives of many members of Qatari society.
He noted that the funds were allocated to ease the burdens of many cases, especially as they are distributed across several well-studied, distinguished projects designed to meet the needs of Qatari society, aligning the foundation’s vision with the aspirations of philanthropists in Qatar.
He explained that the KANAF project aims to economically empower divorced and widowed Qatari women by financing small projects to enhance household income and achieve financial stability. The strong interaction of philanthropists with the project ensures a sustainable source of income for beneficiaries, enabling self-reliance and active participation in the economy, while also supporting the sustainability of charitable work through income-generating initiatives and the productive investment of human capabilities.
Regarding donations allocated to Iftar for a fasting person, the Deputy CEO said they reach the targeted groups of workers and dignified families in need.
