Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has warned the public of chilly weather with lingering dust, light fog, and the possibility of further fog formation later, with northeast to northwest winds, light to moderate in speed, on Wednesday.
In an advisory shared on its official platforms, QMD urged the public to exercise caution due to poor horizontal visibility.
Meanwhile in its weather report, it stated that weather inshore until 6am on Thursday will be hazy to misty, becomes foggy at places later and cold, warning of expected poor horizontal visibility at places later.

Wind inshore will be variable mainly northeasterly to northwesterly at a speed of 02 to 12 knot.

Sea state inshore will be 1 to 2 feet, while offshore will be 1 to 3 feet.
Visibility inshore will be 04 to 9/2 kilometers or less at places later. Offshore it will be 04 to 9/1 kilometers or less at places later.
In its detailed safety instructions for motorists driving in low-visibility conditions, it advised them to remain in their lanes and avoid overtaking or frequent lane changes, which can be hazardous during fog. Staying alert and being aware of potential hazards ahead was also emphasised as an important precaution.
