AFG College with the University of Aberdeen organises Fun Run on NSD

AFG College with the University of Aberdeen, NBK Holding and Al Waab City celebrated National Sport Day, with its second Fun Run which took place at Al Jassasiya Street in Al Waab.

The event was attended by AFG’s Founder and Chairperson, Dr Sheikha Aisha bint Faleh Al Thani, Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser Al Thani, Chairman of NBK Holding and  Sheikh Jassim bin Nawaf Al Thani, Al Waab City representative, along with staff and families of AFG College, partnering and sponsoring companies and the public.

Despite predictions of bad weather, hundreds of students, lecturers, senior representatives of the supporting companies, families and members of the community turned out in support of the 3km run.

Dr Sheikha Aisha Al Thani said: “Our annual National Sport Day is a way for all of us in Qatar to come together and show our support and dedication in helping to achieve a happier and healthier lifestyle.”

She said that the fact that so many students and staff from AFG College have turned out, alongside members of the community is fantastic. “I am always so encouraged when events like this take place and people from all walks of life come together in support of the vision of our Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani,” said Dr Sheikha Aisha Al Thanii.

Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser Al Thani said: “I welcomed the opportunity for NBK Holdings and its subsidiaries to be part of such a special event. Now in its 8th year, our National Sport Day, which was gifted to us by

H H the Amir. It continues to grow from strength to strength and as we have seen from today’s event it has become a real focal point for community engagement; which plays a key role in NBK’s wider support of the community that we operate in.”
