The value of aid provided by Zakat Fund over the past year exceeded QR112m. The Zakat Fund said the value of assistance provided from January to December 2016 amounted to QR 112,354,709 and more than 19,000 people benefited from the aid.
The Fund explained that the assistance was provided in accordance with simplified procedures and mechanisms to verify the eligibility for Zakat, approved by Islamic law.
The Fund receives Zakat and donations at its headquarters and at the collection points spread in various parts of the State.
