Doha, Qatar: Al Sadd were held to a 2-2 draw by Al Ahli in the QSL Cup at the Grand Hamad Stadium yesterday, extending both teams’ winless runs in the competition.
Goals from Tamim Nasser and Hashim Ali were not enough for Al Sadd, who remain on two points from six games, while Al Ahli moved to three points after strikes from Oumar Sekou and Khaled Radwan.
At Al Gharafa Stadium, Al Khor edged Mesaimeer 3-2 in an entertaining encounter. Ricardo Gomez, Sofiane Hanni and an Issak Dankor own goal secured the victory, taking Al Khor to 10 points. Mesaimeer replied through Mousa Abbasi and Youssef Dhaflaoui but stayed on six points.
Umm Salal continued their strong form with a 3-1 win over Al Wakrah, moving to 13 points and third place. Meanwhile, Muaither earned a narrow 1-0 win over Al Kharaitiyat, with Ettiene Morales’ early strike taking them to 11 points.
