Doha, Qatar: The Embassy of Italy in Doha participated in the 2025 edition of the Katara European Jazz Festival, held at the beautiful venue of Katara Corniche.

The event was organised by Katara Cultural Village Foundation and the EUNIC Cluster in Qatar. This year, the Embassy of Italy proudly presented the duo composed by Ilaria Pilar Patassini and Simone Sansonetti, whose performance offered a rich journey through Italian song heritage and contemporary jazz.

The duo presented an intimate musical dialogue between voice and guitar, blending jazz with Italian melodic sounds.

Their programme featured re-arrangements of iconic songs by the Italian famous musician, singer and songwriter Paolo Conte, alongside two original compositions.

This combination of homage and innovation reflected the essence of jazz, a genre rooted in both tradition and renewal.

In the opening remarks, the Ambassador of Italy H E  Paolo Toschi, expressed appreciation to General Manager of the Katara Cultural Village Foundation Prof Dr Khaled bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti for his continued support and dedication to foster cultural exchange.

The Ambassador also extended thanks to the French Presidency of the EUNIC Cluster in Qatar for its leadership and commitment to promote European cooperation through culture.

Ambassador Toschi emphasised that culture and music remain vital bridges for dialogue, diplomacy, and friendship — reaffirming the shared love of beauty, rhythm, and harmony that connects Italy, Qatar, and Europe as a whole.
