20 private clinics to provide free immunisation to kids

DOHA: The Ministry of Public Health will launch the national immunization campaign against Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) on October 17.

The one-month campaign targeting all children aged one year to 13 years will continue until November 14. Vaccination for school-going children will be available at Independent, private and community schools.

The drive is being carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), QP Medical Services and Sidra Medical and Research Center. 

The MMR vaccine will be available at all primary healthcare centres in the morning and evening shifts with no need for prior appointment and at the immunization clinic of Hamad Medical Corporation, the ministry said yesterday.

The vaccines will also be provided at QP (Qatar Petroleum) medical services, Al Khor community Ras Gas and Sidra Medical and Research Center. 

It will also be available free of charge at 20 private healthcare facilities: Doha Clinic hospital, El Emadi hospital, American hospital, Al Shefa polyclinic, Aster medical center C Ring road ( Al Muntaza ), Fetomaternal medical center, Al Esraa polyclinic, Aster medical center Plus, Aster medical centre -Alkhor, Al Tai medical center, Syrian American medical center, Family medical center, Al Hayat medical center, Apollo clinic, Dr. Maher Abbas clinic, Al Mansoor polyclinic, Dr. Bashar Bashar clinic, AlKayyali medical center, Tadwai medical center, Atlas Medical Center and Future Medical Center.

The Ministry has said that the National MMR vaccination campaign was planned and prepared on the basis of the WHO recommendations following the measles cases registered in Qatar - 18 cases in 2015 and 22 cases in the past few months - within the campaign targeted age group 1 to 13 years.
