DOHA: College of the North Atlantic - Qatar (CNA-Q) hosted several members of the Senior Leadership team from College of the North Atlantic (CNA) in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, home of the campus’s academic partner, for several days of fruitful discussion.
Talks focused on the importance of quality assurance for the technical education offered at CNA-Q and the role of the Canadian partner, CNA, as the College moves forward as a national College under Qatari leadership. Senior representatives from CNA met with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education negotiating teams, spearheaded by CNA-Q’s new president Prof Khalifa Al Khalifa.
“For the past 17 years, College of the North Atlantic has been a founding partner of this College, providing the quality Canadian-based education that has transformed the technical and vocational education landscape of Qatar,” said Prof Al Khalifa.
“I am pleased to report that negotiations are headed in a positive direction, and I am confident that a new agreement will be signed. I am delighted that the outlook is excellent for CNA to continue as our key academic partner for many years to come.”
“Our negotiations have been very productive, and CNA looks forward to working towards a new service agreement with our partners in Qatar. As always, visiting the campus in Doha is a positive experience, with warm hospitality and important talks about how to support the education sector in Qatar through offering the internationally-accredited, hands-on technical education that CNA is known for,” said Trudy Barnes, Vice President - International at CNA.
